BuilderOne

Accounting

Not a module beside the others. The one they all post into.

Accounting is BuilderOne’s core, and it is permanent: it can never be switched off for a tenant. Nineteen posting adapters carry documents from the other modules into the same general ledger, on the same chart of accounts, in the same accounting period, attributed to the same project. There is no export step, because there is nowhere else for the numbers to be.

Accounting in the product

The Accounting module: fiscal year and the open, previous and past-end accounting periods; revenue, expenses, net result, total assets, total liabilities and equity for the window; cash and bank GL balances; payables ageing; and control checks confirming the balance sheet balances and every treasury account is matched to a GL account.
A real BuilderOne screen. Demo data throughout.

  6. CloseThe period closes and the numbers stop moving.

What it does

Accounting capabilities

Everything below is implemented and running. Nothing here is planned.

Chart of accounts

One chart across the business, with seeded accounts the operational modules post against by contract rather than by guess.

Fiscal years and accounting periods

Periods open and close, and a closed period refuses a posting. That is the control that makes a reported number stable.

Nineteen posting adapters

Contractor bills, vendor bills, rent invoices, sales instalments, receipts, deposits, owner settlements, payroll, PM charges, investor movements and asset depreciation each reach the ledger through their own governed adapter.

Project as a financial dimension

Postings carry project attribution across every source, which is what makes a project-scoped profit and loss and balance sheet answerable from the ledger.

Manual journals

For the entries that genuinely are manual — approved, audited and period-checked like everything else.

Cash, bank and reconciliation

Cash and bank accounts with a reconciliation workspace that matches the ledger to the statement.

Multi-currency

A functional-currency runtime with exchange rates, so foreign-currency transactions are recorded rather than converted by hand.

Financial statements

Trial balance, general ledger, journal register, profit and loss, balance sheet, and receivable and payable ageing — including project-scoped.

Accounting

How it reaches the ledger

Documents post through governed adapters — no export, no re-keying, and a closed accounting period refuses the posting.
